Special Initiatives Grant
The Special Initiatives Grant is designed to provide support for Educator and Student Membership. The goal of the Special Initiatives Grant is to help faculty and students within Texas and Oklahoma by providing funding resources in three categories: Research, Educational Experience, and Educational Tools. Tamara A. Rice, IIDA, IDEC, LEED GA, CRPM
Tamara is currently an Instructor of Interior Design at Texas Christian University located in Fort Worth, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and is currently wrapping up her MFA degree in Design Thinking at Radford University in Radford, Virginia. Following completion of her master’s degree, Tamara will pursue her PhD in History of Architecture with a focus on ancient Building Methods. She has practiced in both residential and commercial design with a concentration in Residential design-build, specializing in remodeling and renovation. Tamara is a professional member of the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), a LEED Green Associate, licensed Texas Realtor®, Certified Remodeling Project Manager through the National Association of Remodeling (NARI), and a member of IIDA. Her research and passions include Historical Roman Architecture, Sustainable Design, Historical Preservation, and the study of construction building materials in ancient Architecture & Design.
